| 7G605
"Clipper" - a star is born by Zenith Radio.
Designed in late 1941, the 7G605 "Clipper"
Trans-Oceanic radio was born and was the first fully portable
AC/DC short wave receiver built. The two versions of the War time
production effort are both represented in our collection. Click
on the "Clipper" to find more pictures of both
variations of this radio and other information . . . |

| 8G005
- This is one of my favorite designs of
all the Zenith Trans-Oceanic Radios. The 8G005 radio became available as
the first post WWII Zenith Trans-Oceanic. Zenith made 110,567 of them over
a span of 5 years from 1946 to 1951. This example is in excellent to mint
condition and is complete with wave-magnet and other standard accessories.

G500 -
The G500 is the successor to the 8G005Y series Trans-Oceanic
radio. This model was designed for the 1948 model nyear
and was produced for the next 3 years. The G500 was a
change-over model before the H500 was put into production.
This is one of the rarer of the post-war Trans-Oceanics due to
its limited production of only 88,000 units.

| H500 Series - Introduced in
1951 - The "Super" Trans-Oceanic - Original Cost $
124.25. Chassis 5H40, s/n 371782. Very excellent case without
blemish or scuffs, has spare set of tubes inside the back cover.
This model is generally the cornerstone of any Zenith
Trans-Oceanic collection. Click the H500 to see more pictures and
info . . . . . |

| 600
Series - This was a
highly prolific series comprising some 6 different chassis and
variations and was manufactured between 1954 and 1962. The museum
has every variation of this series including the very rare
Military version. Click the 600 Series picture for more info and
pictures . . . |

| R520A/URR
Military version of the 600 series Trans-Oceanic.
According to the Zenith professors, this is the rarest of all Zenith
Trans-Oceanic Models. There were only 2,973 of these built for the
military. We have s/n 1199 in our museum which was manufactured under
contract # 31241-PH-55 for the U.S. Army Signal Corps and has a
date stamp on top of the case that looks like an inventory date
of November of 1963. This unit is from a special second military contract and
is thus even rarer than the original Army production run of R520/URR units where
5,000 were made. Note
that it is an R520A/URR model and has a slide-rule dial.
Apparently this must be so rare that a picture of it does not even appear in the
Zenith
Trans-Oceanic - The Royalty of Radios
book by Bryant & Cones. This unit is serial number 1199 and
has a chassis stamp of 2151. Click the R520A/URR to see more
pictures and info . . . . . |

| Royal 1000
- Transistorized Trans-Oceanic - First move by Zenith
to solid state devices. First introduced in 1957 and built until 1965,
this was a very popular radio in a newer style case. We have several of
these in our Trans-Oceanic museum and one of them has some design attributes
never documented since they are different than the "normal" production
runs. Click the Royal 1000 picture for more pictures and information . . .

| Royal
3000 Series - Transistorized Trans-Oceanic - Introduced
in 1964, has 12V external connection - Original Cost $ 275.00.
Very excellent to mint condition without any blemishes
whatsoever. Has original battery compartment that looks new like
it was never used. Has original shipping carton, slip on plastic
see-through dust cover, owners manual and log, warranty card and
service information. This series is the second in the
transistorized Trans-Oceanic models. Click the 3000-1 to see more
pictures and info . . . . . |

| Royal 7000
Series - Transistorized Trans-Oceanic - Introduced in 1969, corrected
many flaws with the earlier transistorized Trans-Oceanic radios. There
were several versions or variations of this radio, Royal 7000Y, Royal 7000Y-1,
and Royal D7000Y last offered in 1978. This is a highly desirable radio to
own but yet is difficult to find in new or mint used condition. This was
predecessor to the last American manufactured Trans-Oceanic.
We have several Royal 7000 units in our museum. Click on
the picture to see more pictures and information about the Royal 7000 series. .

| R-7000
Series - This was the last version series
of the famous Trans-Oceanic radios. The R-7000-2 was the last one
manufactured by Zenith in the long line of Trans-Oceanics. The
example shown is absolutely brand new and mint. The R-7000 was the last American
made Trans-Oceanic having had its first year of
production being made in Chicago, but in the next two
years was made in Taiwan using American parts. Click the R-7000
to see more pictures and much more info . . . . .
