VINTAGE TUBE RADIOS FOR SALE and Solid State Ones Too

FISHER 80 VINTAGE AM-FM TUNER

This is a vintage late 40's , early 50's Fisher Radio AM-FM Tuner built into its original Blonde wood cabinet.  This came from an early hi-fi estate and to our knowleldge is working.  But we have no way to really test this hi-fi item since we have no amp or preamp to run it through.  Although it needs a little glass dial cleanup, the tuner is in very nice original condition and the original wood cabinet is supurlative.  It is sold with the understanding that it powers up electrically.  Due to its weight and fragility, we will pack and ship this tuner in the CONUS for $ 50.00 with insurance.  This tuner requires a preamplifier/amplifier and speakers for proper operation.  It is NOT a stand alone radio receiver, uses external antennas, has no amplified output and has no built in speaker.

hallicrafters S-38D

AM-SW Radio Receiver with built in band spread and speaker

Hallicafters S38D

This is a very nice condition Hallicrafters S38D series communication receiver.  It receives AM and Shortwave stations and also CW code signals.  It has the AM broadcast band and 3 shortwave bands.  It is working in good physical condition.  This receiver was built and sold for the 1955-1957 season.  The was the latest in S-38 radio designs having an easier to tune horizontal dial that was a definite upgrade from the two inverted half-circles in the S38, S38A and S38B models.  Just attach an antenna and/or wire to the back and plug it in.  It has a built in speaker in the metal cabinet.

SONY CRF230 AM-FM-SW PORTABLE/AC RADIO

Sony CRF230 Super AM-FM-SW Portable

 Sony CRF230 AM-FM-SW Radio

This is the cream of the crop of famous Sony shortware portable radios.  The Sony CRF230 was made in the late 1970's into the 1980's and is considered one of the hotest and highest ranked AM-FM-ShortWave Radios ever built.  The CRF230 is really 3 radios in one case as the AM section has its own tuner, as does the FM section.  The shortwave section is also separate as well so there is no time sharing between radio circuits in order to receive different stations using circuits from the AM or FM section.  This is one of the last ones built and is WORING PERFECTLY for all sections.  The shortwave section provides for listening to AM, CW or sideband audio.  Both upper and lower sideband is provided and there is no drifting like most shortwave receivers due to the advanced circuitry used.  The screw terminals normally used for non professional antennas was factory modified using a BNC connector for antenna hookup to the receiver.    This late model CRF230 has the LCD digital clock that replaced the earlier mechanical clock systems that were used.  This radio also comes complete with the very hard to find front cover (not shown).  This receiver was recently aligned and the digital readout tracks well with the analog shortwave (large) dial on the right hand side.  All switches are working and function perfectly.  The sound is robust with the internal heavy duty speaker system.  The antennas and handles are all straight and true and all compartment covers are provided on the back side.  The hard to find AC cord is provided as well.  This radio is provided with several manuals including the owners instruction manual and factory service manual should you ever need it.  Even though portable radios are usually light weight, this one is close to 30# and is no lightweight.  It is very heavily built with extensive shielding to eliminate any crosstalking of components.

Enough said, it just doesn't get any better than this.  You will find garbage can CRF230's not working usually with torn up gears in the shortwave section on Ebay for anywhere from $ 750-$1200.  Ocasionally, one can find one working on all bands with the old mechanical clock without a cover and using one or two things messed up from $ 1200 to $ 1900 and without documentation.

We are offering this beauty in like new physical shape with the radios working perfectly an with all the last updates that we have described.  If you want the best of the best, then this beauty is for you!

Zenith 12S265 Walton Shutter Dial Radio, 1938 Console

This is one of the hard to find Motorola pushbutton table radios from WWII.  It is in unrestored original physical condition and we would rate it an 8 on a scale of 10 being brand new.  So for a  75 year old radio it is in very good condition with the original dial, pushsbuttons, dials, walnut case and grill cover.  It receives AM and shortwave signals.  Dial this one carefully on shortwave in winter months and you may hear the latest news of the WWII situation in Europe!  We did restore it electronically and it is working wonderfully.
