Appraisal-Valuation
& Acquisition Services
40 years in the
electronics and communication systems business has uniquely trained us
for appraising and valuing antique radios. We purchase complete
collections from estates or people just wanting to move a large quantity
of radios. If you have a collection that you want to sell,
give us a call. We can
offer valuation and appraisal services for any type of radio and/or
radio-phono equipment that was made prior to about 1980.
Quick
Price Evaluation
Our primary appraisal
services are generally in the area of manufacturing between 1920 and
1960, although we have extensive valuation data on equipment made
between 1960 and 1980. We can give you a quick valuation on a
radio if you have the make, model and condition of the radio. This
quick valuation lookup cost is $
10.00. Many people need
an official appraisal so see the information needed below and the cost
for this full appraisal.

Appraisals
Our appraisals are
made based on:
Condition of the
radio or radio/phono
Manufacturer and rarity of the item
Current market conditions and recent sales of similar items
Photographs of the item (you must provide front/rear photos)
Our appraisals are rendered with a
letter of value on a REA letterhead and a certificate of
appraisal. All appraisals are
$ 30.00 each. Estate valuation is
quoted on a case by case basis based on the quantity of radios involved
in the estate.

Identification
One of the most
difficult things to do is to identify a radio from a picture. This
can entail looking throughout stacks of radio books that we have in our
archives. We need good photographs (digital or otherwise) of the
front of the radio, hopefully, a description of the tube layout and of
the layout of the chassis (a drawing is very helpful), and we must know
the number of tubes, what are the tube types and how many of each.
With this information, we are generally successful in identifying your
unidentified radio. The cost for this is $
18.00 but remember, we
must have all of this information before we start searching for your
identification.
