The Bomber - the start of a dynamic series of radios

Model 7G605 - Produced during World War II


This is the famous "Bomber" B17 model with the stitched grill-cloth of the B-17 Bomber.  In spite of this model's popularity, the sailboat is the more sought after 7G605 model because of the few that were made with the sailboat grill-cloth illustrated below . . . .


Notice the detachable short wave magnet (loop antenna) and below it is the suction cup style wavemagnet antenna system with the detachable cord for use in automobiles, boats and airplanes where it would not be practical to extend the multi-section vertical antenna that is used for short-wave broadcasts.


This is the very rare Sailboat version of the 7G605 Trans-Oceanic.  For those collectors looking for primo examples of this radio - eat your heart out, this one is in MINT CONDITION!  <Grin> . . . .  This radio is very difficult to find even in trashcan condition . . . we are very fortunate to have both these fine examples in our museum.
